ANAHEIM, Calif. (Sept. 7, 2018) – Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort is back for more days than ever this year, celebrating the frightfully fun season from Sept. 7-Oct. 31, 2018. A talented team of Disney cast members has collaborated to bring the happy haunts alive at Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, the Downtown Disney District and the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort. Here are some of their insights on what to expect.

    Halloween Time Overall

Jennifer Magill, Producer, Disney Parks Live Entertainment

    • “There’s something special about the magic at Halloween Time and you can discover it all at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. The characters are all decked out in their Halloween attire, the décor is spooky and still fun, and some of your favorite attractions are transformed with a Halloween spirit. Everyone has their own favorites, whether it’s the pumpkin spice churro, the ‘car-stumes’ in Cars Land, or this year’s new gingerbread house inside Haunted Mansion Holiday.”
    • “This year, you’ll find fun, new Halloween touches throughout both parks, along with special ‘Easter Eggs.’ And be sure to check out the Headless Horseman on Buena Vista Street at night. He’s even spookier than last year!”

    Halloween Time Food & Beverage

John State, Culinary Director, Food & Beverage, Disneyland Resort

    • “The Halloween season just isn’t complete until you taste our themed treats at the Disneyland Resort. This year, you’ve got to try some of our new items, like the pollo verde burrito at Paradise Garden Grill and the mummy donut at Schmoozies. Or maybe you’ll come back for your seasonal favorites, like the candy corn pie at Flo’s and the spicy pepper jack dog at Corn Dog Castle.”

    Vampirina

Doina Osborn, Manager with Disney Parks Live Entertainment

    • “Fall one of my favorite times of the year, and just in time for the Halloween season, Disney Junior’s Vampirina is joining the fun at Disney California Adventure. This is the first time Vampirina has appeared at the Disneyland Resort, and little ones are going to love getting a chance to meet her. She is a cool ghoul!”

    Haunted Mansion Holiday

Tim Wollweber, minnieociate Art Director, Disney Parks

    • “Each year for the past 17 years, we’ve created a new gingerbread house for Haunted Mansion Holiday. This year, we wanted a monster-movie vibe, so we designed a giant five-foot spider with eerie glowing eyes and moving legs and mandibles. This multicolor spider is suspended above the Haunted Mansion’s Grand Hall table and it’s trying to pry the edible mansion from its foundation. That reveals the candy cane rebar and sparking lights. Chaos erupts as gingerbread zombies watch in astonishment and cocoon-wrapped gingerbread zombies wait to become spider snacks.”

Joe Peters, Technical Director, Disney Parks Live Entertainment

    • “Each year, we work with our partners at the Disneyland Resort Central Bakery, who start baking the Haunted Mansion Holiday gingerbread house well in advance. It took 12 pastry chefs to help transform the gingerbread house and the enormous five-foot spider into this creepy masterpiece that you won’t want to miss. The team used more than 90 pounds of gingerbread, 30 pounds of sugar, 10 pounds of white chocolate and 45 pounds of chocolate to make this year’s spooky creation a reality.”

    Cars Land

Dave Caranci, Manager of Creative Development at Walt Disney Imagineering

    • “As you walk into Cars Land, everyone is celebrating ‘Haul-O-Ween’ and you’re part of the story. It’s an immersive experience and there are lots of surprises, so you’ve got to look around every corner in Radiator ‘Screams.’ “

Guardians of the Galaxy—Monsters After Dark

John Mauro, Executive Producer of Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark

    • “Guardians of the Galaxy–Monsters after Dark was such a big hit last year and we are so excited to see it return again this year. Being able to experience the original show [Guardians of the Galaxy—Mission: BREAKOUT!] during the day and then comeback after sundown to see the Halloween version is such a huge win for our guests.”

    Plaza de la Familia

Susana Tubert, Creative Director, Disney Parks Live Entertainment

    • “’Plaza de la Familia’ is a vibrant celebration of the everlasting bonds of family and friends that is inspired by Disney•Pixar’s hit film ‘Coco.’ It is exciting to see the smiles of our guests when Miguel joins the lively storytellers, musicians and dancers in ‘A Musical Celebration of Coco.’ The fun continues with authentic Mariachi performances and delicious Mexican fare, a colorful craft area where ‘alebrije’ masks of the characters Pepita and Dante can be made in between visits to the Tree of Life and ‘The World of Coco’ exhibit. As a special tribute to the beautiful tradition of Día de los Muertos, we invite guests to share special memories of their loved ones on the Memory Wall. This immersive setting makes it easy to feel the love at ‘Plaza de la Familia!’”
